Sign a Petition against the Mynydd Maen Wind Farm?

Mr Matt Davies, a regular runner on Mynydd Maen, has started an online petition asking the Senedd Welsh Parliament to reject the wind farm proposals.

Our advice is to sign this petition if you don’t want any wind farms on Mynydd Maen. However this is not enough…

It is unclear if this petition will influence the inspectors who will make the decision about whether the various plans will go ahead. Some say a petition with thousands of signatures will only count as one objection; we have asked PEDW if this is the case and await their reply.

Also, although this petition is addressed to PEDW it is hosted on change.org, an American based platform. The Senedd has it’s own petition hosting https://petitions.senedd.wales/  and if you get 10,000 signatures (possibly unlikely on a local issue) they are obliged to consider it for debate.

Note: once you sign the petition you will be asked to pay a £3 donation. This goes to change.org, although some people have thought that this £3 goes to help the Mynydd Maen cause. So don’t pay that £3 unless you are aware who it is going to; instead consider donating to our funds.

Matt’s petition can be found here https://chng.it/MnQP826vgk

Sign it, but please consider donating to our funds and you must, please write an individual objection to PEDW for each proposal that you object to, when the time comes!
