We are raising money to pay for advice and representation from Environment Information Services.
The Mynydd Maen Windfarms Action Group have engaged the services of Environment Information Services to help us oppose the multiple renewable energy projects proposed for our local mountain, Mynydd Maen.
EIS is run by partners Geoffrey and Mary-Rose Sinclair. Mary-Rose is a career geographer with long experience of land-use issues. Geoffrey has a distinguished history of opposing 127 inappropriately-sited renewable energy projects at Public Inquiries throughout Great Britain.
Here are some highlights from Geoffrey Sinclair’s career:
- drafting policy and campaigning documents and CPRW’s responses to parliamentary enquiries and consultations
- giving oral evidence to the House of Commons Welsh Affairs Committee’s Inquiries on Energy Policy in both 1994 and 2006
- member of the British Wind Energy Association’s working group devising Best Practice Guidelines for Wind Energy Development
Since 1996 Geoff has taken an active part on behalf of local action groups in 127 wind power public inquiries throughout Great Britain and elsewhere. In about half of these he also acted as lay-advocate, in the
former system prior to the DNS process in Wales. His work has been successful in leading to the refusal of almost two-thirds of these cases.
